Deputy Speaker urged students to attain skills on ICT

GAIBANDHA, OCT 15, 2018 (BSS) – Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangshad
Advocate Fazle Rabbi Miah today urged the students to attain knowledge and
skills on information and communication technology (ICT) to keep pace with
the modern world.

“Students should be more skilled in ICT to compete globally, achieve the
challenges of the 21st century and get good positions side by side with
building technologically advance country”, he said.

Deputy Speaker local lawmaker Advocate Fazle Rabbi Miah made the
observations while addressing a discussion meeting after inaugurating the ICT
Bhaban and Computer Lab at Kanchipara Degree College under Fulchhari upazila
in the district on Monday as the chief guest.

With principal of the college ATM Rasheduzzaman Rokon in the chair, the
function was also addressed, among others, by upazila chairman Habibur
Rahman, local union parishad chairman Abdur Rahman Liton, and freedom fighter
Azharul Islam Bablu while teachers Sultana Parvin and Abual Khayer Sahi
moderated the ceremony.

Deputy speaker said the young generation would have to be turned into
competent workforce through imparting IT skills as they are the future and
the assets of the country.

The ICT sector made remarkable progress in the recent years as the
government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina adopted effective and time-
befitting policy and steps for development of the sector, he added.

He asked the students to be serious in study and make good results in
the exams to be worthy citizens of the country. and lead the nation towards
desired development through their merits.

He also urged the teachers to be more punctual, professional, honest and
symbol of principles for improving the education standard and providing
proper knowledge and quality teaching to the students.

Later, a refreshers’ reception function was also held for the students
admitted to the college at eleven classes this year.

The programme was followed by colorful cultural function where the
students of the college and local artistes participated.

A large number of students, teachers, guardians and invited guests
including journalist were present on the occasion.
