Concert for JUCSU held at JU

SAVAR, Dec 18, 2017 (BSS) – A concert demanding election of Jahangirnagar University Central Student Union (JUCSU) was held on Sunday night on the university campus.

JU Cultural Alliance (JUCA) organised the event at the Selim Al Deen Muktamancha.

Speakers at the inaugural session urged the university authority to take initiatives for executing JUCSU immediately and ensure democratic environment on the campus.

JU Teachers’ Association Secretary Professor Farid Ahmed, Professor Mirza Taslima Sultana and Associate Professor Asnisa Parvin Joli addressed the inaugural session, among others.

Besides, among the student representatives, former JUCA President Mahi Mahfuz, Vice President Musfiq Us Salehin, General Secretary Nazmul Hossain, Bangladesh Student Union of JU unit president Imran Nadim, Student Front president Masuk Anik Helal also spoke at the programme.

A number of bands from Dhaka, Chittagong and Rajshahi University performed at the programme with the university’s local singers.

Over 600 teachers, students, cultural, social and political activists from different public universities attended the event and expressed solidarity with the demand.
