JBCCI seeks Japanese supports to accelerate Bangladesh’s development

DHAKA, Oct 13, 2018 (BSS) – The Japan Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI) today sought Japanese financial and technological supports to further accelerate Bangladesh’s development.

The chamber sought the supports at its ‘9th Network Gathering’ held at the Lotus Hall Room, Uttara Club in the city.

JBCCI organised the gathering while Kojima Lyric Garments Limited hosted the event.

Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) Mayor M Jahangir Alam and JBCCI President Daisuke Arai, Vice President Imrul Anwar Liton, Adviser Akhtaruzzaman and Honorary Executive Director Dr AKM Moazzem Hussain were present on the occasion.

JBCCI Secretary General Tareq Rafi Bhuiyan moderated the event.

Addressing the gathering, Jahangir Alam said Japan is one of the best friends of Bangladesh as it is providing all sorts of supports to develop the country.

“The bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Japan will widen further in future. We want to work with Japan in all sectors, including information and technology. The financial and technological supports of Japan will accelerate the country’s economy,” he added.

He urged the Japanese investors to invest across the country, including Gazipur, saying there is an investment friendly environment in Bangladesh.

Imrul Anwar Liton expressed his hope that Bangladesh will move forward further with the technical and financial supports of the Japanese government.

Moazzem Hossain said JBCCI was formed to enhance the trade and investment relations between Bangladesh and Japan. “I hope, JBCCI will play more active roles to enhance the relationship,” he added.

Members of JBCCI and high officials of JETRO Dhaka Office also attended the event.
