DHAKA, May 7, 2022 (BSS)- The archers of Bangladesh started their Asia Cup World Ranking tournament stage-2 campaign as the qualification round of the tournament has begun from today (Saturday) in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq.
In the qualification round of recurve women's event, Nasrin Akter, Diya Siddique and Beauty Roy finished 4th, 5th and 10th position among the twenty seven competitors after scoring 622, 622 and 606 respectively while in the men's event, Mohammad Ashikuzzaman, Newaz Ahmed Rakib and Mithu Rahman finished 4th, 8th and 9th position after scoring 693, 684 and 681 respectively.
In the recurve women's team event, the Bangladesh archery team comprising Nasrin Akter, Diya Siddique and Beauty Roy finished second among the seven teams after scoring 1850 while in the men's event, Bangladesh archery team featuring Mohammad Ashikuzzaman, Newaz Ahmed Rakib and Mithu Rahman also finished second position among the five countries after scoring 2058.India emerged top in this event with a score of 2086.
In the recurve men's qualification round event, ace archer Ruman Sana, Mohammad Hakim Ahmed Rubel, Abdur Rahman Alif finished 4th, 5th and 9th position among the 40 competitors after scoring 564, 650 and 639 respectively while in the team event, Bangladesh archery team featuring Ruman Sana, Hakim Ahmed Rubel and Abdur Rahman Alif finished second among the ten countries after scoring 1943. India emerged top in this event with a score of 1947.
In the compound women's event, Shamoly Roy, Bonna Akter and Suma Biswas finish 7th, 10th and 12nd position among the twenty competitors after scoring 673, 661 and 648 respectively while in the compound women's team event Bangladesh archery team featuring Shamoly Roy, Bonna Akter and Suma Biswas finished third among the five teams after scoring 1982.
In the recurve mixed team event, Bangladesh archery team featuring Ruman Sana and Nasrin Akter finished 4th among the eleven teams after scoring 1276 while in the compound mixed team event Bangladesh team featuring Mohammad Ashikuzzaman and Shamoly Roy finished 3rd among the seven teams after scoring 1366.
Meanwhile, Ruman Sana, Hakim Ahmed Rube and Abdur Rahman Alif moved to the round of sixteen in the recurve men's singles elimination round after getting bye.
