Two matches of U-14 Academy Cup football decided in opener

 DHAKA, Nov 24, 2021 (BSS)- Two matches of Bashundhara Kings BFSF U-14

Academy Cup football, organized by Bangladesh Football Supporters Forum
(BFSF), decided on the opening day (Wednesday) at outer stadium adjoining the
Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city's Paltan.

     In the days first match, Football Academy Derai, Sunamganj blanked
Rahimnagar Football Academy, Khulna by 2-0 goals with Jubayer and Tuhin
scored both the goals for the winning side in the first half.

     Sakhawat Sardar of Football Academy Derai was named the man of the match
for his impressive performance in the match.

     In the day's second match, Abdul Halim Football Academy, Mymensingh
split point with Sunrisers Football Academy, Brahmanbaria when their match
ended in a tame goalless draw.

     Abu Sayem Sarkar of Sunrisers Football Academy was given the man of the
match award.

     Earlier, Bangladesh Olympic Association's (BOA) secretary general Syed
Shahed Reza formally inaugurated the ten-day meet as the chief guest.

     BFSF president Kazi Shohidul Alam presided over the opening ceremony.

     Speaking as the chief guest Syed Shaed Reza said: "Those of you who have
come here to play today may one day we'll have to go after you for autographs
.... I wish best wishes all the players participating from this platform."

     "I would like to thank BFSF for organizing such a wonderful event
....let more players come up from the grassroots through them (BFSF and hope
that this trend will continue in the future," he added.

     BOA deputy secretary general Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, Bangladesh Football
Federation's executive member Mahidur Rahman Miraz , tournament committee's
chairman Abdul Bari Manik and tournament committee's secretary Shahadat
Hossain Jubayer, were among others, also present in the opening ceremony.

     Sponsored by Bashundhara Kings, twelve football academy teams, split
into four groups, are taking part in the meet, which is being held by the
cooperation of National Sports Council and Bangladesh Football Federation.
