DHAKA, Nov 30, 2024 (BSS)- Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society made a
winning start in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League (BPL)
football defeating Fortis Football Club by 3-1 goals held at Birshreshtha
Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Saturday.
In the day's match, Ghanaian midfielder Mamoud Oshie, defender Md Taj Uddin
and Ghanian forward Felix Tetteh scored one goal each for Rahmantagnj while
defender Monjurur Rahman Manik netted a lone goal for Fortis.
The match was locked goalless at the breather.
After the barren first half, Mamoud broke the stalemate scoring the first
goal for Rahmatganj in the 59th minute while Taj Uddin doubled the lead
scoring the second goal for Rahmatganj in the 67th minute of the match.
Felix further widened the margin scoring the third goal for Rahmatganj in the
69th minute while Monjurur pulled one back for Fortis in the 74th minute.
The traditional old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj clearly dominated the proceeding
and notched their deserving victory on the day while Fortis were off-colored
except the day's lone goal in the second half.
Rahmatganj will play their next match against Chittagong Abahani Limited on
December 6 at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium while Fortis will meet Brothers
Union Club on December 7 at Bashundhara Kings Arena.
