‘Digital innovations making civic life easier, smarter’

RANGPUR, Nov 29, 2022 (BSS) – High officials at a discussion here today said digital innovations are making civic life easier, comfortable, richer and smarter, accelerating the process of building a developed Bangladesh by 2041 next.
 
They viewed this in the inaugural function of a two-day Digital Innovation Fair-2022 arranged at Public Library ground to showcase various digital innovations, ideas and concepts, ICT products, multimedia classroom, mobile banking and e-learning materials.
 
The district administration is organising the event with assistance of the Cabinet Division, ICT Division and a2i to demonstrate technology-friendly digital innovations for reaching all services to the peoples’ doorsteps without any complexity.
 
Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md. Sabirul Islam formally inaugurated the fair by cutting ribbon in a colorful function arranged on the fair premises as the chief guest.
 
With Deputy Commissioner Md. Asif Ahasan in the chair, Superintendent of Police Md. Ferdous Ali Chowdhury, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-General) Md. Golam Rabbani and ADC (Education and ICT) Md. Firuzul Islam attended the function as special guests.
 
Four thematic pavilions, including Innovative enterprises and startups, Digital services, Hands-on service and Education, skill development and employment, have been set up in the fair premises.
 
There are arrangements of providing citizen-friendly digital services from the fair premises and informing the service delivery process, development and receiving citizens' opinions about the services in the fair.
 
Different government departments, offices and private organisations and institutions have installed 53 stalls in fair premises showcasing various digital innovations, ideas, projects and e-services.
 
Apart from this, innovation and startup showcases of local innovators are being exhibited in the fair from where nationally implementable innovations will be selected through competitions.
 
As part of the Innovation Olympiad at the fair, competitions are being organized through exhibition of innovative concepts, ideas and available projects.
 
The chief guest said the government has been working earnestly for making all services available at the doorsteps of the people without any hassle and reaching digital services to people at their doorsteps.
 
“We have to work with utmost sincerity to make the initiative taken by the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to build a 'smart digitised Bangladesh' on the way to build a developed Bangladesh by 2041, '' he said.
