GAIBANDHA, June 23, 2021 (BSS) - The 72nd founding anniversary of Awami League (AL) was celebrated in the district today in a befitting manner amid following the guidelines of coronavirus.

Marking the day, Bangladesh Awami League, district unit chalked out the elaborate programmes included hoisting of national and party flags at district AL office in the morning followed by placing wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation and architect of the Independence Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Later, a discussion was also held in the hall room of the party office with Advocate Syed Shams-ul-Alam Hiru in the chair.

Senior Vice-president of district Awami league Forhad Abdullah Harun Bablu, its General Secretary Abu Bakar Siddique, Organizing Secretary Mridul Mostafiz Jhantu, Office Secretary Saiful Alam Saka, members of Sadar Upazila Awami league Rezaul Karim Reza and Aminur Zaman Ringku and President of Bangladesh Chhatra League (district unit) Mohammad Asif addressed the meeting, among others.

The speakers recalled the founding history of Awami League and paid homage to its all founding leaders including Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the function.

Similar programmes were also held in other six upazila headquarters at the arrangement of the respective Upazila Awami League.
