FORT MYERS, United States, Oct 2, 2022 (BSS/AFP) - The death toll from
Hurricane Ian in Florida has risen to 44, authorities reported Saturday, as
the southern state took stock of the aftermath of one of the most powerful
storms ever to hit the United States.

"There are now 44 deaths attributed to Hurricane Ian," the Florida District
Medical Examiners Commission reported, raising the toll from 25.
