Rain likely

DHAKA, Aug 19, 2022 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted rain in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9am.

“Light to moderate rain or showers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind, is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions,” said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.

Rain may also occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country’s southern part, the bulletin said.

Mild heat wave is sweeping over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and it may abate.

Day and night temperature may fall by one to two degree Celsius over the country, the bulletin predicted.

The highest temperature on Thursday recorded 37.8 degree Celsius in Mymensigh, while today’s minimum temperature was 23.9 degree Celsius in Rajshahi.

The sun sets at 6:29 pm today and rises at 5:35 am tomorrow in the capital.
