DHAKA, June 29, 2022 (BSS) – A student has died and two others have been injured in a road accident near city’s Shikha Bhaban crossing in the early hours of Wednesday.

He was identified as Muhaiminul Islam Refat (21), son of Hafez Khandaker of Brahmanpara area in Cumilla. He lived with his parents at Matikata area of Dhaka Cantonment. He passed HSC from BAF Shahin College and was waiting to get admitted to university level.  

Police said Refat was going to Old Dhaka along with his friends by motorcycles around 1am to take food. The motorcycle he was driving with two friends hit the road island near Shikha Bhaban. When Refat and his two friends fell on the road, a lorry crashed Refat leaving his critically injured, said Shahbagh thana’s sub-inspector Mahmudul Hasan.
   
Refat was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor decaled him dead. His two friends Mehedi Hasan (20) and Shakil (21) were undergoing treatment at the DMCH.  

Police arrested lorry driver Masum Hossain (50) and seized the lorry. A case was lodged in this connection.
