DHAKA, May 28, 2022 (BSS) - A special doa mahfil was organized seeking divine blessings and eternal peace for the departed soul of the Independence Award winning eminent space scientist Dr AM Choudhury at his Dhanmondi residence in the city. 

State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, former Agriculture Minister and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Agriculture Ministry Begum Matia Chowdhury, former Housing and Public Works Minister Mostafa Jamal Haider, Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam, Dr Hasina Banu and Choudhury's son and a2i's Policy Adviser Anir Choudhury spoke at the programme on Friday evening, said a press release here today. 

A number of relatives, admirers and well wishers of Dr Choudhury joined the doa mahfil physically and virtually. 

Dr AM Choudhury, also former Chairman of the Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organization (SPARRSO), breathed his last due to old-age complications at his Dhanmondi residence in the city on May 19 at the age of 81.

He was laid to eternal rest at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard.
