DHAKA, May 27, 2022 (BSS) - Heroic freedom fighter and former Additional 
Inspector General of Bangladesh Police Shamsuddin Ahmed died of old-age 
complications while undergoing treatment at the Evercare Hospital in the 
capital in the early hours of today.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and a host of well wishers to mourn his 
death, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) sources said. 

His namaz-e-janaza was held at the Shaheed SI Shiru Mia Auditorium of 
Rajarbagh Police Lines here after Jummah prayers today.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Benazir Ahmed attended the namaz-e-
janaza.

Shamsuddin was laid to eternal rest with state-honor at Uttara Sector-4 
graveyard in the capital.
