DHAKA, May 2, 2022 (BSS) - President M Abdul Hamid today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Freedom Fighter and Kishoreganj district Awami League (AL) president Advocate Kamrul Ahsan Shahjahan.

In a condolence message, the president said Shahjahan, as the former upazila chairman of Mithamain, played an important role in ensuring development in Kishoreganj.

He said his (Shahjahan) heroic contribution to Great Liberation War in 1971 and local development will be remembered by the people with due respect.

“Advocate Shahjahan’s death is really irreparable loss to the politics of Kishoreganj which will never be filled up,” Abdul Hamid added.

The head of the state prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Shahjahan breathed his last at 4.20 am today. He was 80. 

He is survived by his wife, son and numerous admirers and relatives.
