Met office forecasts light to moderate rain, thundershowers in parts of country

   DHAKA, Oct 8, 2021 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD)

today predicted that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by
temporary gusty wind may occur at different parts of the country in 24 hours
as of 9 am tomorrow.

   "Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty
wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka,
Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions," the met
office said in a 24 hours weather forecast commencing at 9 am today.

   Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it
said.

   The highest temperature on Thursday was recorded 35.6 degrees Celsius at
Jashore in Khulna division and today's minimum temperature was 24.5 degrees
Celsius at Nikli, Mymensingh and Kutubdia in Dhaka, Mymensingh and Chattogram
divisions respectively.

   Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 52
millimeters (mm) at Sitakunda in Chattogram division.

   The sun sets at 5.39 pm today and rises at 5:54 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
