Met office forecasts moderately heavy falls in northern region

   DHAKA, Oct 4, 2021 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD)

today predicted moderately heavy falls at some places in country's northern
region.

   Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty
wind is also likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and
Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal
and Chattogram divisions, a met release said.

  Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly
unchanged over the country.

   The low pressure area over Bihar and adjoining area now lies over West
Bengal and adjoining northwestern part of Bangladesh.

   The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajsthan, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh,
Bihar, centre of the low to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh.

   Monsoon is active over northern part and fairly active elsewhere over the
country and moderate over North Bay.

   Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 34.5 degrees Celsius
jointly at Chuadanga and Maijdi Court and minimum temperature today was 23.0
degrees Celsius jointly at Tetulia and Dimla.

   Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00am today was recorded 246
millimeters (mm) at Sayedpur.

  Today's sunset at 5.42 PM and tomorrow's sunrise at 5.52 AM at Dhaka.
