DHAKA, Sept 28, 2021 (BSS) - LGRD Minister Md Tazul Islam today
said that the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina is now able to implement self-finance projects bigger than the
Padma Bridge.

   "Bangladesh now has reached a new height in all the economical
indexes like our per-capita income, GDP growth and foreign exchange
reserve. Country's economy has seen a revolution. So not only Padma
Bridge, the country now has the ability to implement even bigger
projects by its own funding," he said.

   The minister was addressing a function organized by Dhaka North
City Corporation (DNCC) at Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed Park in Gulshan
marking the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, an official
release said.

   The LGRD minister further said that when the country is moving
towards prosperity under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina, conspiracies are still taking place in and outside the
country.

   "They (conspirators) want to hinder the progress of the country and
keep its people in poverty. But no matter how many conspiracies they
hatch, we have the courage and strength to face all the evil forces,"
he added.

   Presided over by DNCC Mayor Md Atiqul Islam, the function was
virtually attended by Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury. State
Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel also attended the
program as a special guest.
