All successes, achievements of Bangladesh come thru PM's hands: Razzaque

   DHAKA ,Sept 28, 2021 (BSS) - Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzaque

today said that all the successes and achievements of Bangladesh have come at
the hands of the incumbent Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she is the worthy
premier and leader of the Bangladesh.

   "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, is leading the country for 41 years as the
President of Awami League (AL) and for almost 18 years as the Prime Minister
of Bangladesh. All the successes and achievements of this country have come
at the hands of her," he said.

   The minister said this while addressing a discussion organised by
Bangladesh Awami League on the occasion of 'The 75th Birthday of Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina' at Agargaon in the capital.

   Bangladesh has evolved from a low income country to a developing country
as she has elevated the country to a unique height in the world arena with
dignity and respect, he said.

    Later, the minister also addressed a meeting on reviewing the progress of
implementation of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) online from the
office room of the secretariat this afternoon.

   Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted that the country has produced
record rice.

   Both total production and productivity have increased, he said, adding
that despite all these successes, rice has to be imported.

   Population is increasing while cultivable land is decreasing, he noted.

   "In this case, we have to have way, how production will increase," he
added.

   He urged all concerned to spread newly invented varieties of paddy, which
are more productive, to the farmers quickly for rapid production in the
country.

   The minister further said that onion production has improved this year and
prices remain stable.

   Production will have to increase further next year, he added.

   At the same time, all have to ensure fair price of onion to the farmers as
imports from India will be stopped during the onion-loaded season.

   Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Md Mesbahul Islam
conducted the meeting.
