RAJSHAHI, Sept 27, 2021 (BSS) - Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH)
recorded four more fatalities at its Covid-19 unit in the last 24 hours till
6am today, raising the death toll to 156 so far this month.
However, the previous day's fatality figure was also four, while on Thursday
last the death figure was just one which was the ever-lowest one in the
hospital since the second wave of the pandemic hit the country around six
months back.
Earlier, the number of casualties was 340 in August, 566 in July and 405 in
June, health officials said.
RMCH Director Brigadier General Dr Shamim Yazdani told newsmen that the three
of the deceased were the residents of Chapainawabganj, while one from
Rajshahi.
Among the deaths, three were female and one male.
All of the fresh fatalities were suffering from symptoms of Covid-19 in the
hospital.
Nineteen more patients were admitted to the designated Covid-19 wards of the
hospital in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of admitted patients
to 113.
Eighteen other patients returned home from the RMCH Covid-19 unit after
being cured during the time.
Meanwhile, six more people tested positive after testing 261 samples in
Rajshahi's two laboratories on Sunday, showing a 2.29 percent positivity rate
against 6.97 percent on Saturday.
