RAJSHAHI, Sept 15, 2021 (BSS) - Teachers should come forward and work
together to build the students and other youths as digital citizens amid the
present modern technology arrangements.
Academics made the observations while addressing a workshop related to
digital education at Barendra University (BU) in Rajshahi city today with
participation of around 23 BU teachers.
Denate and Fredric Newman Foundation for Freedom jointly hosted the
workshop in association with the European Union under its 'Foster Responsible
Digital Citizenship to Promote Freedom of Expression in Bangladesh' project.

Islam from Rajshahi University and Ashif Ahmed from Denate addressed the
workshop as resource persons disseminating their expertise on the issue.
The meeting was told that the project is intended to assist the students
and young generation to become responsible digital citizens besides building
their consciousness in terms of constructive thinking and expression.
Speakers in the workshop discussed and devised ways and means on how to
create awareness among the students related to internet use, protection in
the internet, digital law and cyber crimes.
They mentioned that the present government under the dynamic and visionary
leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to
this end. So, all the government and non-government entities concerned should
supplement the government endeavor.
