MAGURA, Sept 04, 2021 (BSS) – Like elsewhere in the country, the largest Bangla online e-learning platform ‘Muktopaath’ also became popular among the teachers in the district as a tool of learning skills on modern teaching methods.

   
“Muktopaath helps me a lot to teach children in easy and exciting ways … now my classes seem fun to the students,” said Shahanaj Parveen, a primary school teacher of the district who was nominated as the ambassador of ‘ICT for Education’ by district primary education office.

The government’s A2i programme made the e-learning platform to get as many as teachers possible over online to train them as it is impossible to reach more than one million teachers with the traditional face to face training model.
 
The Muktopaath, so far, trained 1158081 learners of diverse fields including teachers, students, unemployed youths, women, farmers, migrant workers, government employees, fresher journalists and other professionals in 195 courses. Now it runs 96 courses.
          
The initiative envisions, being the largest learning platform of Bangladesh where people can learn from online, offline or blended courses from experts, policy makers or academicians without any language barrier and also at the lowest affordable costs.

Anyone can take online courses to gain knowledge and skills from anywhere using this platform.

Within 24 months of inception, this unique e-learning platform trained 12000 apprentice journalists and 160,000 teachers while it has the target to train 20 million individual professional and unemployed youth by 2030.
    
Parveen said she first got registered on ‘Muktopaath’ for training on Mathematical Olympiad Training to learn the modern math teaching methods. After that she successfully completed teachers training on methods of teaching Bangla and English for primary school students.

“After completing these course, I just implied my learning at my classes … and thee methods I gained from Muktopaath worked like magic .. my whole class environment had been changed .. my students started getting more and more deeply involved into learning with fun,” Parveen said in a jubilant voice.
      
Besides that, she also completed training on ‘Camtasia video editing and multimedia’ courses to acquire skill of making digital class contents.

“These courses helped me to make a revolution in my classes. I introduced different digital class contents for my students that made my life easy to make the children more attached to learning,” said Parveen, who ranked 16th at the National Digital Content Competition in 2017.

Besides, Parveen also successfully completed a public speaking course from Muktopaath that increased her ability on giving lively presentation.
   
With her skill and determination, Parveen is currently working as trainer on English teaching method in Muktopaath and an instructor at a programme name ‘English in Action’.
 
Apart from as a trainer, she also worked as video editor for different IT course of Muktopaath while the Shikhok Batayon (teachers’ portal) uploaded 49 digital contents, made by Parveen.

“Muktopaath opened many windows in front of me … it gave me the opportunity to flourish my creativity and innovation … thanks to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her innovation in building Digital Bangladesh,” said Parveen with gratitude.            
According to district primary education office, more than 1000 primary school teachers had taken the Mathematical Olympiad Training and received certificates through online as per the direction of Primary Education Directorate from 2016.
 
“Many of our teachers have been enrolled in different courses from Muktopaath and received certificates,” Parveen said.

Echoed with Parveen, district primary education officer Kumaresh Chandra Gachhi said many teachers in the district achieved success after getting skill training from Muktopaath.

The A2i officials said Muktopaath made the learning materials accessible for all, user-friendly and spontaneous for the learners which saves time, cost, visit and widen the scope of learning to a greater extent than ever before.

Trainees can sit for theoretical lessons from wherever they want like access both offline and online content, easily store and retrieve contents from memory card to go through lessons at their own comport and also receive feedback from trainer from distant places.

In 2018, Muktopaath was the Champion of the world's most prestigious award on ICT sector, called the "World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) Prize-2018."

On that year, Bangladesh Press Institute (PIB) also awarded the “Sohel Samad Memorial Award” to Muktopaath for consideration of new Innovation/ Creativity in the media field.
