2 held over death in pesticide poisoning 

 
DHAKA, June 8, 2023 (BSS) - Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested the chairman and managing director of DCS Organisation Ltd, a cleaning and pest control service, over the deaths of two children in the Bashundhara residential area. 
 
The arrestees are Ashrafuzzaman, chairman of the company and its managing director, Forhad.
 
A team of detectives arrested them from Tangail and Brahmanbaria on Thursday morning, Mashiur Rahman, deputy commissioner (DB) of Lalbagh Division, told BSS.
 
Earlier, police arrested Titu Molla, 37, a pest control technician of the company, after the victim's father, Mobarak Hossain, on Monday night filed a case with Bhatara police station for negligence. 
 
Shayan Mobarrat Zahin, 15, a student of class VIII, and Shahir Mobarrat Zayan, 9, a class III student, died while undergoing treatment at a city hospital on Sunday.
 
According to the police and the family of the victims, Pest Control Service workers sprayed pesticide at a new house located in the city's Bashundhara last Friday. 
 
Two days later, the victim's family came to that house. They fell ill as soon as they entered the house. They were later taken to a hospital, where Zahin and Zayan died on Sunday.
 
Police sources say that the mother of the two deceased children, Sharmin Jahan Lima, and their father Mobarak Hossain, are still undergoing treatment.
