DHAKA, June 24, 2021 (BSS) – Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Textiles and Jute today recommended taking up project to set up a vocational textile institute in every parliamentary constituencies.

The recommendation was made at a meeting of the committee at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here with Committee Chairman Mirza Azam in the chair.

Committee members - Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Mouazzam Hossain Ratan, Md. Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Shahin Akhtar, Abdul Momin Mondol, Khadizatul Anwar and Tamanna Nesrat Bubly attended the meeting.

Ongoing projects under Jute Department and progress of the projects were discussed thoroughly during the meeting.

The meeting discussed issues regarding dues and payments of fare of Sun Moon Tower in presence of Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) and MR Trading company proprietors.

Textiles and Jute secretary, BJMC chairman, director generals of textiles and jute departments, concerned official of Textiles and Jute Ministry and Parliament Secretariat were present in the meeting.
