DHAKA, Aug 15, 2022 (BSS) - Four people, including two children, were killed
in the city's Uttara area as a girder of under-construction Bus Rapid Transit
(BRT) project fell on a private car.

The private car was going to Ashulia from Kawla of Dhaka Airport.

The accident took place on the Dhaka-Mymensigh Highway near Jasimuddin Road
bus station (in front of Paradise tower) at about 4:10 am after the girder of
BRT collapsed on the private car while a crane was moving the girder, leaving
four people dead on the spot and two injured, said officer-in-charge of
Uttara Poschim Police Station Mohammad Mohsin.

The deceased are diver Rubel, 50, Jarna, 28, Zakara, 6, and Jannat, 2. The
injured were identified as Hridoy, 26, and Riya Moni, 21.

Fire fighters from Uttra Fire Station rushed to the spot and recovered the
bodies and rescued the injured persons from the car.

The injured were admitted to Uttara Crescent Hospital, Monsin said.
