GOPALGANJ, Aug 6, 2022 (BSS) - Senior journalists and different journalist
organizations today paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his mausoleum at Tungipara in
Gopalganj.
Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), the
National News Agency of Bangladesh, Abul Kalam Azad paid rich tributes by
placing wreaths at the mausoleum.
He stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the
memory of the Father of the Nation.
Later, he offered doa seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of
Bangabandhu and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful
night of August 15, 1975.
Earlier, Abul Kalam Azad along with the former leaders of BFUJ-Bangladesh
Federal Union Journalists and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) paid tributes to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at his mausoleum.
Former media advisor to the Prime Minister Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, former BFUJ leader Shahjahan Mia and former BFUJ President Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Dainik Jugantar Editor Saiful Alam and former BFUJ secretary general Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan, among others, were present.
Leaders of BFUJ-Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists led by its president
Omar Faruque and secretary general Dip Azad paid rich tributes to Bangabandhu by placing a wreath at his
mausoleum.
Its Vice President Dr Utpal Sarker, Office Secretary Sebika Rani and Member
Noor-e-Jannat Sima, among others, were also present.
National Press Club (NPC) leaders also paid rich tributes to Bangabandhu.
NPC President Farida Yasmin, Joint General Secretary Moinul
Alam, Treasurer Sahed Chowdhury along with Press Club executive committee
members and journalists were present.
DUJ led by its President Sohel Haider Chowdhury and General Secretary Aktar Hossain paid rich tributes to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at the
mausoleum.
Besides, Bangladesh Women Journalists' Center, Cumilla Journalists' Forum,
Greater Brahmanbaria and Chandpur Journalists' Forum, Dhaka Journalists'
Family Multipurpose Cooperative Society also paid tributes to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths.
Later, they offered doa seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of
Bangabandhu and other martyrs of August 15, 1975.
