DHAKA, Aug 12, 2021 (BSS) – Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee will hold a special discussion as part of the observance of the National Mourning Day.
This was informed today at a virtual meeting of the committee, said a press release.
Chairman of the national implementation committee Professor Rafiqul Islam presided over the meeting while Chief Coordinator of the committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury moderated it.
At the beginning of the meeting, congratulations were extended to the Bangladesh National Cricket Team for their recent victory in the "Bangabandhu T20 Series" against Australia.
Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury said that on behalf of the committee, work has been started to hold the special discussion programme on the occasion of National Mourning Day through all television channels, online media and social media.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has kindly given her consent to be present as the chairperson of the discussion program, he added.
He said Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, former chairman of Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) Professor Abdul Mannan and Chairman of Bangladesh Awami Jubo League Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash will be among the discussants.
An audio-visual on the life and work of Bangabandhu will be displayed in the discussion program, he informed.
He said the date and time of the broadcast of the program will be published in the media in due time.
The meeting was informed that on behalf of the National Committee, the design of dropdown banners was provided to government, private and autonomous departments or institutions across the country for the month of August.
On the occasion of National Mourning Day, more than six lakh Bengali and English posters of three designs have been printed.
The posters have been sent across the country through the Department of Mass Communication of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and to Bangladesh missions abroad through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, former minister Asaduzzaman Noor, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak , State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain, State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid, Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, Lawmaker Aroma Dautta and Chairman of the Bangladesh Awami Jubo League Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, among others, took part at the meeting.
