CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Aug 3, 2021 (BSS)- A number of 24 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours till this morning, raising the total number of infection to 5,056 in the district.

    During the time, 110 samples were tested in the district, showing the infection rate of 21.81 percent, Civil Surgeon Office sources confirmed.

    Among the newly detected patients, 17 are from Sadar upazila, two from Shibganj upazila, two from Nachole upazila and three from Bholahat upazila.

    Of the total detected patients, 2,805 are from Sadar, 869 from Shibganj, 666 from Gomostapur, 376 from Nachole and 340 from Bholahat upazilas.

    A total of 372 patients are undergoing treatment in the district. Of them, 62 are getting treatment in dedicated Covid hospital and others at home.

    Meanwhile, 140 patients have died of COVID-19 and 4,544 patients have recovered from the disease here so far, the sources added.
