NAOGAON, Aug 2, 2021 (BSS) - A number of 20 more people were diagnosed with COVID-19 positive in the last 24 hours in the district after testing 161 samples at Dhaka Medical College Hospital COVID-19 PCR laboratory and Rajshahi Medical College Hospital COVID-19 PCR laboratory testing centers.
 
   The infection rate is 12.42 percent in the district, deputy civil surgeon of the district Dr. Manjur-A-Morshed told BSS.
 
   Meanwhile, two persons have died with coronavirus infection during this period, he said.
 
  The total number of infected persons in the district stood at 5,939 and the number of recovery cases at 5,393.
 
  Meanwhile, 40 patients recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours in the district.
 
   A total of 120 persons have so far died of COVID-19 in the district, he added.
 
   Dr. Manjur-A-Morshed said 19 infected persons are now undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the district and rest of the infected persons are now undergoing treatment at home quarantine under the supervision of doctors from their respective upazila health complexes.
 
   The health expert urged all to follow the health rules strictly and use masks to prevent the spread of the lethal virus.
