CUMILLA, Oct 5, 2022 (BSS) - A team of Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) in a drive here realised Taka 18,000 as fine from the owners of three business establishments for various irregularities in different areas in Sadar Dokhhin upazila of the district today.

Sources concerned said the team led by assistant director of Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) in Cumilla Md Asadul Islam conducted the drive at Amania Hotel and Restaurant in New market area, fined Taka 5,000, for violating hygiene rules, at Minerva Hotel, fined Taka 3,000 for violating hygiene rules and City Pharmacy in Sadar Hospital area, fined 10,000 for storing and selling date expired medicine in Sadar Dokhhin upazila of the district today.

The business establishments were fined Taka 18,000 for various irregularities and violation of the Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009.

Members of the law enforcement agencies assisted in the operation team.
All are instructed to buy and sell at the rates set by the government in accordance with the Consumer Rights Protection Act.

The drive would continue in the district, Islam added.
