RANGPUR, Oct 2, 2022 (BSS) - A bicyclist was killed in a road accident at Kashipur point on the Rangpur-Dhaka highway in Mithapukur upazila of the district this afternoon.
 
"The accident occurred when a BRTC double-decker bus hit a running bicycle killing its rider on the spot," Officer-in-Charge (OC) of nearby Barodorga highway police station Md. Shahjahan Ali said tonight.
 
The deceased was identified as Shri Lebu Sarkar, 45, son of Shri Vinoy Sarkar of Krishnapur Bakultala area in Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur.
 
"We have seized the killer bus although its driver and helper managed to flee from the spot," the OC said, adding that a case was filed in this connection with Mithapukur police station.
