RANGPUR, Sept 27, 2022 (BSS) - Twenty-nine fresh Covid-19 cases, highest number in recent months, were diagnosed after testing 133 samples at the 21.80 percent positivity rate on Monday in Rangpur division.
 
Health officials said the number of diagnosed fresh Covid-19 cases is showing a rising trend in recent days in the division where the pandemic situation was improving in recent months.
 
"With the diagnosis of the 29 fresh cases, the number of Covid-19 patients rose to 64,871 in the division," Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam told BSS today.
 
Meanwhile, the total number of recovered Covid-19 patients rose to 63,290 as 58 more patients healed during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today.
 
The number of casualties remained steady at 1,289 as no new death was reported during the period.  
 
In the meantime, more 8,439 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered on Monday raising the number of inoculated vaccines to three crore 12 lakh 78 thousand and 517 doses in the division.
 
"Among the total administered Covid-19 jabs, 1,36,56,593 doses were inoculated as the first doses, 1,30,55,786 as the second doses and 45,66,138 as the booster doses," Dr. Islam said.
