RANGPUR, Sept 16, 2022 (BSS) - Four fresh Covid-19 cases were diagnosed after
testing 24 samples at the 16.67 percent positivity rate in Rangpur division
on Thursday.
 
Health officials said the Covid-19 pandemic situation is showing an improving
trend in recent weeks across the division.
 
"With the diagnosis of the four fresh cases including one each from Rangpur,
Nilphamari, Thakurgaon and Dinajpur districts, the number of Covid-19
patients rose to 64,917 in the division," Divisional Director (Health) Dr Abu
Md Zakirul Islam told BSS today.
 
The total number of recovered Covid-19 patients remained steady at 63,212 as
no more patients healed during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today.
 
The number of casualties also remained steady at 1,289 as no new death was
reported during the period.  
 
Meanwhile, more 7,919 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered on Thursday
raising the number of inoculated vaccines to three crore 11 lakh 89 thousand
and 507 doses in the division.
 
"Among the total administered Covid-19 jabs, 1,36,51,820 doses were
inoculated as the first doses, 1,30,42,106 as the second doses and 44,95,580
as the booster doses," Dr Islam added.
