CHAPAINAWABGANJ, July 30, 2021 (BSS)- A total of 18 more people were tested positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours raising the total number to 4,923 in Chapainawabganj district.

During the period, 160 samples were tested in the district showing the infection rate 11.25 percent, Civil Surgeon Office sources confirmed.

Among the newly detected patients, 10 are from Sadar upazila, seven from Shibganj upazila and one from Gomastapur upazila.

Of the total detected patients of the district, 2,718 are from Sadar upazila, 859 from Shibganj upazila, 656 from Gomastapur upazila, 368 from Nachole upazila and 322 from Bholahat upazila.

Besides, a total of 477 patients are undergoing treatment in the district, of them, 57 are getting treatment in dedicated Covid-19 hospital and others at home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 138 patients have died due to the lethal virus and 4,308 have  so far recovered from the disease here, the sources added.
