Int’l Literacy Day observed in Bogura

BOGURA, Sept 8, 2022 (BSS) – The International Literacy Day was observed in the district as elsewhere in the country today in a befitting manner.

This year’s theme of the day is ‘Transforming Literacy Learning Spaces: Exploring Opportunities and Possibilities’.

Marking the day, the district administration and the Bureau of Non-Formal Education jointly organised separate programmes including discussion.

On the occasion of the day, a discussion meeting was held at the conference room of deputy commissioner (DC) office. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Ziaul Haque addressed the function as the chief guest with additional deputy commissioner (Education and ICT) Nilufa Yasmin in the chair this morning.

Additional Superintendent of Police Helena Akhtar, District Education Officer Hazrat Ali, Assistant Director of Non-formal Education Bureau Rabiul Islam, among others, spoke on the occasion.

The speakers said the overall development of the country and its human resources are fully dependent on education and its progress and the government has been implementing massive programmes to achieve cent percent literacy rate and the SDGs by 2030 on the way to build a developed nation by 2041 next.
