Police killed in Khulna road mishap

  KHULNA, Sept 8, 2022 (BSS) - An assistant sub inspector (ASI) of Khanjahan Ali police station was killed in a tragic road mishap while on duty on Khulna bypass road area in the city early this morning.

  The deceased was identified as Abdul Haque, 50, son of Aftab Ali Sarder, of village Narikelbaria under Bagharpara upazila in Jashore. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khanjahan Ali police station Md Kamal Hossain Khan told BSS today that a mobile police team was on duty by a three wheeler locally known as CNG last night at Khulna bypass road area.

  As the petrol team halt near 'Bangladesh Krira Shhikha Pratisthan (BKSP)' Khulna divisional building at Afilgate area, the cop went outside and was walking beside the road around 12 past 10 minute t night.

  A speedy truck from Sonadanga Truck Terminal area knocked the cop from behind where he fell down on the street. His colleague flanked by local people rushed him to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) where he succumbs to injury around 12.45 am, he said.

  He will be buried to his native land after post mortem, he said, adding that first namaz-e-janaza of Abdul Haque will hold after Asar prayer at Police Line Ground in the city.
