RANGPUR, Aug 17, 2022 (BSS) - One fresh Covid-19 case was diagnosed after testing 63 new samples at the positivity rate of 1.59 percent in Rangpur division on Tuesday.
 
Health officials said the Covid-19 pandemic situation is showing an improving trend with a decreasing number of newly infected patients almost daily in recent weeks.
 
"With the diagnosis of the one fresh case, the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 64,872 in the division," Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam told BSS today.
 
The total number of recovered Covid-19 patients remained steady at 63,092 as no more patients healed during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today.
 
The number of casualties also remained steady at 1,289 as no new death was reported during the period.  
 
Meanwhile, more 13,787 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered on Tuesday raising the number of inoculated vaccines to three crore eight lakh 93 thousand and 142 doses in the division.
 
"Among the total administered Covid-19 jabs, 1,35,73,754 doses were inoculated as the first doses, 1,29,99,189 as the second doses and 42,20,199 as the booster doses," Dr. Islam added.
