RANGPUR, Aug 8, 2022 (BSS) - Two fresh Covid-19 cases were diagnosed 
after testing 47 new samples at the positivity rate of 4.26 percent in 
Rangpur division on Sunday.

 Health officials said the Covid-19 pandemic situation is showing an 
improving trend with a decreasing number of newly infected patients almost 
daily in recent days. 

 "With the diagnosis of the two fresh cases, the total number of Covid-19 
patients rose to 64,866 in the division," Divisional Director (Health) Dr. 
Abu Md. Zakirul Islam told BSS today.

 The total number of recovered Covid-19 patients remained steady at 63,072 as 
no more patients healed during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today. 

 The number of casualties also remained steady at 1,289 as no new death was 
reported during the period.  

 Meanwhile, more 1,817 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered on Sunday 
raising the number of inoculated vaccines to three crore eight lakh 15 
thousand and 720 doses in the division. 

 "Among the total administered Covid-19 jabs, 1,35,71,533 doses were 
inoculated as the first doses, 1,29,87,899 as the second doses and 42,56,288 
as the booster doses," Dr. Islam added.
