RANGPUR, July 3, 2022 (BSS) - Thirteen fresh Covid-19 cases, highest number in a day in recent months, were diagnosed after testing 88 samples with the positivity rate of 14.77 percent in the division on Saturday.
 
Health officials said new Covid-19 cases have been reported everyday since last June 22 in the division.
 
The 13 new Covid-19 patients include eight from Rangpur, three from Nilphamari and one each from Lalmonirhat and Thakurgaon districts.
 
"With the diagnosis of the 13 fresh cases, the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 64,205 in the division," Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam told BSS today.
 
The total number of recovered Covid-19 patients remained steady at 62,785 as no more patients healed during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today.
 
The number of casualties also remained steady at 1,284 as no new death was registered during the time.   
 
Meanwhile, more 10,971 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered on the day, raising the number of inoculated vaccines to two crore 98 lakh one thousand and 920 doses in the division.
 
Among the 10,971 doses of the jabs inoculated on Saturday, 297 were administered as the first doses, 1,191 as the second doses and 9,483 as the booster doses.
 
Dr. Islam called upon citizens to abide by the health directives and hygiene rules to remain safe as the number of Covid-19 cases is rising again in the division as elsewhere across country.
