RANGPUR, June 27, 2022 (BSS) - Ten fresh Covid-19 cases, highest number in a day in recent months, were diagnosed after testing 72 samples with the positivity rate of 13.89 percent in Rangpur division on Sunday.
 
Health officials said the 10 new Covid-19 infected patients include five from Rangpur, two each from Nilphamri and Thakurgaon and one from Dinajpur districts.
 
"With the diagnosis of the 10 fresh cases, the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 64,166 in the division," Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam told BSS today.
 
The total number of recovered Covid-19 patients remained steady at 62,785 as no more patients healed during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today.
 
The number of casualties also remained same at 1,284 as no new death was reported during the time.  
 
Meanwhile, more 22,282 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered on Sunday raising the number of inoculated vaccines to two crore 98 lakh 43 thousand and 515 doses in the division.
 
Among the 22,282 doses of the jabs inoculated on Sunday, 552 were administered as the first doses, 2,978 as the second doses and 18,752 as the booster doses.
 
"Till Sunday, a total of 1,35,59,372 people got the first doses of Covid-19 jabs, and of them, 1,30,05,173 got the second doses and 32,78,970 got the booster doses," Dr. Islam added.
 
He especially called upon people to sincerely abide by the health directives and wear masks while remaining outside to be safe as the number of Covid-19 cases is again rising in the country.
