JHALOKATI, June 26, 2022 (BSS) - A total of 25 heifers were distributed among
25 fishermen in Sadar upazila of the district today under the "Conservation
and Development of Local Species of Fish and Snail Project" for alternative
employment.

On the occasion, a function was held at the Upazila Parishad (UP) auditorium
this morning.

Member of Awami League Advisory Committee Amir Hossain Amu joined the
function virtually as the chief guest with Upazila Parishad Chairman Khan
Arifur Rahman in the chair.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sabekun Nahar, district Fisheries Officer Ripon
Kanti Ghosh, AL leaders Mujibul Haque Akand, Torun Karmokar and Mohila Vice-
chairman Israt Jahan Sonali were present, among others.

Amu urged the beneficiary fishermen to take proper care of the heifers so
that they will be growing in good health.
