TANGAIL, June 8, 2022 (BSS)- A court here today sentenced a man to jail until

death and four others life-term imprisonment for killing a man in the
district in 2010.

The court also fined Taka 50,000 each.

Tangail Additional District and Sessions Judge Masud Parvez delivered the
verdict this afternoon.

Judge Masud Parvez passed the judgement, sentencing Rezaul Islam to jail
until death.

The court sentenced Alo Begum, Rezvi, Alamgir and Lal Mia to life
imprisonment.

However, two accused in the case-- Rezvi and Rezaul Islam-- are absconding.

According to the details of the case, Moniruzzaman of Kauljani village in
Tangail's Basail upazila was brutally stabbed to death by his brothers Rezaul
Islam Reza, sister-in-law Alok Begum and others on September 12, 2010.

The accused then dumped Moniruzzaman's body on the south part of the
Maheshkhali area.

Later, Moniruzzaman's father filed a case with the concerned police station.

Additional Public Prosecutor of Tangail court Advocate Monirul Islam Khan
confirmed the matter.
