31,650 Eid congregations to be held in Khulna

 

Khulna, July 19, 2021(BSS) - Around 31,650 Eid congregations will  be held this year at the traditional and temporary venues in all 10 districts of the division under the supervision of Khulna divisional commissioner, Islamic Foundation, deputy commissioners,  City Corporation and municipalities.

According to Islamic Foundation, authorities concerned and devotees have been asked to abide by health safety guidelines including wearing masks, using sanitizers’ before entering into Eid Jamaats due to coronavirus pandemic.

Rolling out of carpets at the Jamaat ground has been prohibited and devotees have been asked to come to the Eid Jamaat along with Jainamaz and ‘wujhu’ with disinfected spray as per directives of the Religious Ministry.

Besides, devotees also have been asked not to hug each other after completion of Eid jamaat due to corona pandemic.

Sources said, Eid congregations will be held in  a total of 3,748 mosques and temporary venues in Khulna, followed by 4,484 in Satkhira, 4,156 in Bagerhat, 2,195 in Narail, 6,037 in Jashore, 3,399 in Jhenidah, 2,307 in Magura, 1,660 in Magura, 2,804 in Kustia and 860 in Meherpur.

Divisional Director of Khulna Islamic Foundation Shaheen Bin Zaman told BSS that  everybody should abide by  government instruction about Eid-Jamaat.

“Authorities have been asked to arrange Eid-Jamaat at mosques maintaining social guidelines and wearing masks and to arrange Eid Jamaat at Eid Gah if necessary,” he said, adding that Khatib and Imams have been asked to offer doa and munajat to keep free from deadly coronavirus to the Almighty Allah.

Local administration, KCC and KDA sources said, preparations to construct and decoration of Eid venues  started in the city under the auspices of Khulna district administration, Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP), and other religious organizations for peaceful celebration of the festival with due solemnity and religious fervour.

The main Eid congregation will be held at Khulna Town Jame Mosque in the city at 8.00am and Khatib Moulana Md. Abu Saleh will conduct the prayer.

Other two Jamaata will be held at 9.00am and 10.00am here respectively.

The other main Eid Jamaats will be held at different venues including, Baitun Nur Jame Mosque, Islamabad Eidgah, Baitul Aman Jame Mosque, Iqbalnagar Jame Mosque, Daulatpur and Khalishpur Eidgah between 7.00am to 9.00am.
