RANGPUR, May 16, 2022 (BSS) - One fresh Covid-19 positive case was diagnosed after testing 189 new samples at the 0.53 percent positivity rate on Sunday in Rangpur division.

  Health officials said the only new patient was diagnosed in Nilphamari district.

  "With the diagnosis of the one fresh case, the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 64,141 in the division," Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam told BSS today.

  Meanwhile, the total number of recovered Covid-19 patients remained steady at 62,785 as no more patients healed during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today.

  The number of casualties remained steady at 1,284 as no new death was reported during the last 24 hours.

  The number of inoculated vaccines till Sunday stood at two two crore 78 lakh 78 thousand and 131 doses in Rangpur division.

  "Till Sunday, a total of 1,35,28,043 people got the first doses of Covid-19 jabs, and of them, 1,27,99,596 got the second doses and 15,50,493 got the booster doses," Dr. Islam added.
