CHAPAINAWABGANJ, July 18, 2021 (BSS)- One more person died of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours raising the total number of deaths to 129 in the district.

The new fatalitiy has been reported from Chapainawabganj sadar upazila.

The total death included 87 persons of Chapainawabganj sadar upazila, 26 persons of Shibganj upazila, nine persons of Gomostapur upazila, five persons of Nachole upazila and two persons of Bholahat upazila.

On the other hand, the number of Covid-19 cases climbed to 4,678 as 14 more people were detected positive after testing 126 samples in the district during the last 24 hours while the infection rate is 11.11 percent, Civil Surgeon Office sources confirmed.

Among the newly detected patients, six people are from sadar upazila, four from Shibganj upazila, one from Gomostapur upazila and three from Bholahat upazila.

Of the total detected patients, 2,598 persons are from sadar upazila, 812 from Shibganj upazila, 617 from Gomostapur upazila, 359 from Nachole upazila and 292 from Bholahat upazila.

At present, there are 617 COVID-affected patients in the district and of them 59 are undergoing treatment in dedicated Covid hospital and others at home.

Meanwhile, 3,932 patients have recovered from the disease here, the sources added.
