NARAIL, Jan 4, 2022 (BSS) - The government has allocated a total of
19,700 blankets for the poor and distressed cold-stricken people of 39 unions
and three municipalities in the three upazilas of the district.

     District Relief and Disaster Management Office sources said a total of
470 blankets have been allocated for each of the Union Parishad and
Municipality.

     They said the allocated blankets have already been sent to the upazila
authorities and the concerned authorities have started to distribute the
blankets among the cold-hit distressed people.

     The sources added that the government also allocated Taka 7,11,492 for
Narail sadar upazila and Taka 1,48,159 for Narail municipality, Taka 6,65,141
for Lohagora upazila and Taka 54,477 for Lohagara municipality and Taka
6,36,112 for Kalia upazila and Taka 85,710 for Kalia municipality to buy
blankets for the poor people.

     Narail Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Habibur Rahman said the Prime
Minister's Relief Fund allocated the blankets to reduce the suffering of the
poor people.
