Rangpur records 0.66pc Covid-19 positivity rate

     RANGPUR, Dec 1, 2021 (BSS) - Rangpur division recorded 0.66 percent
Covid-19 positivity rate as only one fresh case was reported after testing
151 new samples in the division on Wednesday.  

     Health officials said the pandemic situation continues improving amid
declining positivity rate and rising recovery rate constantly during the last
three months in the division.  

     Earlier, the daily Covid-19 positivity rates were 1.45 percent on
Tuesday, 2.59 percent on Monday, 1.84 percent on Sunday, 5.49 percent on
Saturday, 1.75 percent on Friday and 3.03 percent on Thursday last in the
division.

     The only positive case was reported after testing 94 samples at the
Covid-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC) in Dinajpur
today.

     "The new Covid-19 patient is hailing from Dinajpur district," said
Principal of MARMC Professor Dr Syed Nazir Hossain.

     Meanwhile, none was tested positive after diagnosing 57 samples at the
Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) in Rangpur today, Principal of RpMC Professor
Dr AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu told BSS at 6:35 pm.

     Talking to BSS, Divisional Director (Health) Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam
said the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 55,567 as one new positive
case was reported today from the division.  

     "The district-wise break up of total 55,567 patients include 12,509 of
Rangpur, 3,823 Panchagarh, 4,460 of Nilphamari, 2,748 of Lalmonirhat, 4,646
of Kurigram, 7,665 of Thakurgaon, 14,845 of Dinajpur and 4,870 of Gaibandha
in the division," he said.
