Rangpur records 8.51pc Covid-19 positivity Saturday

   RANGPUR, Nov 27, 2021 (BSS) - Rangpur division recorded 8.581 percent Covid-19 positivity rate as eight fresh cases were reported after testing 94 new samples in the division on Saturday.

     Health officials said the Covid-19 pandemic situation continues improving amid declining positivity rate constantly during the last three months in the division.

     Earlier, the daily Covid-19 positivity rates were 1.75 percent on Friday, 3.03 percent on Thursday, 2.44 percent on Wednesday, 7.07 percent on Monday, 2.17 percent on Sunday and 1.33 percent on Saturday last in the division.

     Eight fresh Covid-19 cases were reported after testing 94 collected samples at the Covid-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC) in Dinajpur today.

     "All eight news Covid-19 patients are hailing from different areas of Dinajpur district alone," said Principal of MARMC Professor Dr Syed Nazir Hossain.

     "On the other hand, no test of collected samples was conducted at the Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) for want of collected samples of suspected Covid-19 patients today," Principal of RpMC Professor Dr AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu told BSS tonight.

      Acting Divisional Director (Health) Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam said the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 55,548 as eight new positive cases were reported today from the division.

     The district-wise break up of total 55,548 patients include 12,506 of Rangpur, 3,822 Panchagarh, 4,459 of Nilphamari, 2,747 of Lalmonirhat, 4,646 of Kurigram, 7,662 of Thakurgaon, 14,838 of Dinajpur and 4,868 of Gaibandha in the division
