RANGPUR, Oct 25, 2021 (BSS) - Rangpur division recorded 3.74 percent
Covid-19 positivity rate as seven fresh cases were reported after testing 187
new samples in the division on Monday.
Health officials said the coronavirus situation continues improving amid
declining positivity rate during the last more two months in the division.
Earlier, the daily Covid-19 positivity rates were 4.13 percent on Sunday,
2.38 percent on Saturday, 10.40 percent on Friday, 0.38 percent on Thursday,
1.97 percent on Wednesday and 2.56 percent on Tuesday last in the division.
Among the seven new patients, two were reported positive after testing 93
samples at the Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) Covid-19 laboratory in Rangpur
at the positivity rate of 2.15 percent today.
"The two new Covid-19 infected patients include one each from Rangpur and
Nilphamari districts," Principal of RpMC Professor Dr AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu told
BSS at 5:50 pm.
On the other hand, five new patients were reported after diagnosing 94
samples at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC)Covid-19 laboratory in
Dinajpur at the daily positivity rate of 5.32 percent today, Principal of
MARMC Prof Dr Syed Nazir Hossain said.
"The five new Covid-19 infected patients include two from Dinajpur, one
from Panchagarh and two from Thakurgaon districts," he added.
Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Motaharul Islam said the number of
Covid-19 patients rose to 55,287 as seven new positive cases were reported
today from across the division.
"The district-wise break-up of total 55,287 patients include 12,459 of
Rangpur, 3,803 Panchagarh, 4,440 of Nilphamari, 2,738 of Lalmonirhat, 4,637
of Kurigram, 7,613 of Thakurgaon, 14,738 of Dinajpur and 4,859 of Gaibandha
in the division," he added.
