CHATTOGRAM, Oct 20, 2021 (BSS) - Chattogram district recorded lowest Covid-
19 positivity rate of 0.53 percent while eight fresh cases were reported
after testing 1,506 samples during the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning.

  The lowest Covid-19 positivity rate has continued in Chattogram district.
The Covid-19 situation is improving consistently during the recent months in
the district, Civil Surgeon Dr Ilias Chowdhury said.

   Earlier, the district also recorded 0.93 percent Covid-19 positivity rate
on Monday and 1.16 percent on Friday, Dr Ilias Chowdhury added.

   With the new infection, the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases reached
102,136 in the district, the sources said.

  "The number of cured patients from the lethal virus stood at 87,468 in the
district with the recovery of 34 more patients in the last 24 hours," Dr
Ilias said, adding that the percentage of recovery rate is 85.66.

   With one more new death recorded in the last 24 hours, the death toll
stood at 1,316 in the district.

  A total of 1,712 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at
designated hospitals here.
