RAJSHAHI, Sept 26, 2021 (BSS) - Industrial police have been working to
attract more investment from both home and abroad for bolstering the
country's economy through promoting the industrial sector.
Additional Inspector General of Police (Industrial) Shafiqul Islam made
the observation while sharing views with leaders of Rajshahi Chamber of
Commerce and Industries (RCCI) at its conference hall today as the chief
guest.
He said the present government has adopted innumerable numbers of
initiatives and financial motivation to embellish the industrial sector ahead
of the "Vision 2041".
The government has also announced hundred economic zones to the pertinent
industrial places in the country. By this time Industrial Police has become
an emblem of trust to all concerned.
Shafiqul Islam said industrial police keeps a mentionable role to maintain
peace and tranquility in the industry especially in the garments sector.
Garments industry plays a vital role to the national economy of the
country and industrial police is a specialized police unit of Bangladesh
Police, he added.
Additional IGP Islam said industrial police ensures congenial working
atmosphere in the garments sector through collecting advanced intelligence
and adopting other necessary steps.
"We have been changing in every way and presently policing is pro-people,
proactive, community oriented, technology based and sensitized to issues
regarding human rights, gender and children," he opined.
With RCCI President Muhammad Moniruzzaman in the chair, the meeting was
addressed, among others, by Deputy Inspector General of Police Abdul Baten
and Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Abu Kalam Siddique.
